Morsegrid works on the operations behind Shopify brands: support queues, phone lines, stock counts and reports. We diagnose first, using your own Shopify, helpdesk and phone data, and we build only what the diagnosis supports. Our Washington State example is an automotive parts retailer, and this page sticks to what we did there.
No office, a remote team
We have no office in Washington State. Our team works remotely, so there is no office to visit. This page is about Washington State, not Washington, DC.
The Washington State client
The client is an automotive parts retailer based in Washington State. It sells through a Shopify storefront, and its customers are phone-first. We have worked with its team on a retainer since June 2026.
Where the phone line failed
The problem was the phone. A verified 30-day baseline, taken before this engagement, shows 3,067 inbound calls, of which 155 were answered live. That is a raw miss rate of 94.9%. Raw means it counts calls, not callers, so a caller who redialed is counted each time and the figure overstates the number of separate people who went unserved.
Why the helpdesk could not see it
The helpdesk could not see the gap. The missed calls never entered the helpdesk, so the ticket data said everything was fine while the phone said the opposite. In an earlier three-week count, only 21 phone-tagged tickets existed against roughly 2,161 calls.
The obvious fix for a busy phone line is more people resolving more contacts. The data said the opposite: the team resolved fine, and the failure was intake. The builds below followed from that finding.
What we built
Three things followed. Missed calls and voicemails now flow onto a ranked callback worklist instead of disappearing. An AI voice agent answers the hours nobody could staff, on a locked knowledge base of client-confirmed facts. Its guardrails forbid quoting dynamic repair prices or inventing warranty terms, and it captures a callback when it is unsure. And three deduplicated sales-recovery lists put more than 1,000 reachable buyers in front of the team.
What the voice agent answers now
The agent now answers 69.5% of the calls that come in outside open hours. That is one client's result, not a promise for your line.
Washington call recording law
One Washington detail matters for any phone fix. Washington law (RCW 9.73.030) requires the consent of all participants before a private phone call is recorded, with narrow exceptions. An announcement that the call is about to be recorded counts as consent, and that announcement has to be recorded too. If you add call recording or an AI voice agent that records calls, check the greeting wording with your own lawyer first. This is general information, not legal advice.
A check you can run yourself
You can run the first check yourself. Pull 30 days of call history from your phone system. Count inbound calls, answered calls and distinct numbers, then compare them with the phone-tagged tickets in your helpdesk. If the numbers do not match, that gap is the first thing to diagnose.
Working together
This is our only Washington State example. If you run a Shopify brand in Washington State and your phone line, helpdesk and ERP no longer agree, book a diagnosis call and we will look at your data first.
