Sales Development Representative (SDR) Trainee

We are looking for you if you're always told you're too intense. You finish things other people abandon. You get uncomfortable when nothing is hard. You eat feedback for breakfast. You think "good enough" is an insult. You keep score to win even when nobody else is. If that sounds exhausting to you, we are not your people. If that sounds like looking into a mirror, apply.

Who we are

Morsegrid fixes what breaks when an ecommerce brand grows. We find the cause in a brand's own Shopify, helpdesk and ERP data first, then build the fix and train the team to run it.

We are a small, senior-led team with people in the USA, Bangladesh, Ireland and New Zealand. Trainees learn on real client systems next to senior people. We care about craft, plain communication and work that keeps running after we hand it over.

About the role

We're hiring a Sales Development Representative (SDR) Trainee. This is the entry route into the same team as our Sales Development Representatives. You don't need sales experience. You need to write clearly, be careful with data and keep going when most messages get no reply. If you already have outbound, sales or customer-facing experience, apply for the SDR role instead.

You'll work on real outbound for Morsegrid: researching ecommerce brands, building prospect lists, and drafting first emails and LinkedIn messages. A senior teammate reviews your lists and your copy before anything is sent, and coaches you as replies come in.

This is a full-time Morsegrid role. The work grows from research and drafting into running your own sequences and booking calls, and we will tell you plainly what you need to show to move up to SDR.

What you'll achieve

  • Research prospects. Find who runs an ecommerce brand, what they sell and what changed recently, and note where each fact came from.
  • Build clean lists. Build prospect lists that match the brands we serve, with no duplicates and no guessed emails.
  • Draft first messages. Draft openers and short emails for review, then send them once approved.
  • Log every touch. Keep the CRM accurate: every contact, every message and every reply, logged the same day.
  • Run follow-ups. Run follow-ups on the schedule we teach, including the "not now" list.
  • Learn the craft. Learn our copy framework, email deliverability basics and how to qualify a reply, with a senior teammate teaching you on live work.
  • Use AI well. Use AI tools for research and drafting, and check every fact before it goes in a message.

Skills you'll need to bring

  • No sales experience required, and no degree requirement.
  • Written English strong enough for US, UK, or Australian business owners to read without noticing it's a second language.
  • Comfort in spreadsheets: filtering, sorting and deduplicating without breaking the data.
  • You can research a company from public sources and show where each fact came from.
  • You write clearly and briefly, with no filler.
  • You handle silence and rejection without losing momentum.
  • You tell us when you don't know something instead of guessing.
  • You use AI tools as a working instrument and check what they give you.

Nice to haves

  • Any customer service, retail, call center or recruitment experience.
  • Experience writing for an audience: a blog, social posts or a newsletter.
  • Experience selling or buying online, even a small shop.
  • Interest in how ecommerce brands run and make money.

What success looks like in your first six months

  • Learn the copy framework and the list checklist, and build a prospect list where every contact is checked.
  • Send your first approved messages and log every reply the same day.
  • Write openers a senior teammate approves without rewriting.
  • Run the follow-up cadence on a list of your own, with review.
  • Be ready to run a sequence of your own, with review, and to show you can book qualified calls, the step up to SDR.

Benefits

  • Full time, remote-first
  • Paid training on real outbound next to a senior teammate
  • Pay set on the person and the work they show
  • A performance bonus for each qualified call booked from your lists or messages
  • A clear path to the SDR role as you show you can run sequences yourself

How to apply

Include the cold email you'd send to an ecommerce brand you think should be a client of ours, in three to five sentences, and tell us how you found the brand. Applications without a real example will not be reviewed.

A note on AI

You don't need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect everyone here to be curious and to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. When AI fluency is a core requirement, the role says so in the skills list. People who do well here use AI to think better and check its work before it ships.

Equal opportunity

We hire people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you're excited about this role but don't meet every point, we still encourage you to apply. Morsegrid does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic. If you need an adjustment during the application process, tell us and we will make it.
