Global Sourcing & Partnerships Specialist
Who we are
Morsegrid fixes what breaks when an ecommerce brand grows. We find the cause in a brand's own Shopify, helpdesk and ERP data first, then build the fix and train the team to run it.
We are a small, senior-led team with people in the USA, Bangladesh, Ireland and New Zealand. Trainees learn on real client systems next to senior people. We care about craft, plain communication and work that keeps running after we hand it over.
About the role
We're hiring a Global Sourcing & Partnerships Specialist. The ecommerce and automotive brands we work with grow when they buy better, ship for less and find the right partners before a competitor does. That depends on research and first conversations that nobody inside those businesses has time to do well. This is the person who does them.
You'll look for suppliers and manufacturers in the United States, Europe, China and other major economies, and for companies a client could partner with or buy. You find them, check them, make first contact, and hand a clear brief to a senior member of our team, who leads the negotiation.
This is a full-time Morsegrid role and an important one. What you find shapes what our clients sell, what it costs and how fast it arrives. We start with automotive parts and motorcycle products and will widen as we take on more clients.
What you'll achieve
- Find suppliers. Find manufacturers and suppliers for a client brief across the US, Europe, China and other major economies, using trade databases, directories, registries and direct outreach.
- Make first contact. Write and send the first emails and messages, ask the right questions, chase replies and request quotes and samples. You open the door; a senior teammate negotiates.
- Check before you recommend. Verify every supplier before it reaches a shortlist: registration, references, certifications, sample quality and how they handle problems.
- Compare on landed cost. Compare options on the full cost of getting a unit to the customer: price, minimum order, freight, duties, lead time and payment terms.
- Map logistics. Work out how goods move from factory to customer: freight options, customs, duties and Incoterms, and keep backup routes ready.
- Research partners and targets. Screen companies a client could partner with or buy, from public sources, and write a one-page brief on each with a clear go or no-go.
- Hand off cleanly. Give the negotiating lead a brief that stands on its own: what we need, what the supplier offered, what is verified and what is not.
- Keep one record. Log every supplier, company, message and quote in a shared tracker, and send a short weekly update.
- Use AI well. Use AI tools for research and drafting, and check every number and claim before it goes in a brief.
Skills you'll need to bring
- Experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, international trade, or business or deal research. If you have less, show us what you taught yourself and what it produced.
- You've dealt with suppliers or companies outside your own country, or you can show how you would.
- You can compare suppliers on landed cost, not only unit price.
- Working knowledge of import logistics: freight, customs, duties and Incoterms.
- You research companies from public sources: registries, filings, trade databases, news and LinkedIn.
- Clear, polite written English for first contact with suppliers, and strong spreadsheets for comparing them.
- You follow up. You send the third email and record every reply.
- You separate what you verified from what you were told.
Nice to haves
- Sourcing experience in China, the EU or the US, or a language that helps with suppliers, such as Mandarin.
- Automotive, motorcycle or ecommerce product experience.
- Experience with Alibaba, Global Sources, ThomasNet or trade shows.
- Basic acquisition research: valuation multiples and due diligence checklists.
- Experience working alongside a senior negotiator.
What success looks like in your first six months
- Learn the client briefs and deliver a first supplier shortlist, each supplier checked and briefed.
- Run a full sourcing round for one product line: first contact, quotes, samples and a recommendation with landed cost.
- Set up the shared supplier and company tracker, and keep it current.
- Deliver a first batch of partner and acquisition briefs the founder can act on.
- Cut a client's cost or lead time through a supplier or route change.
Benefits
- Full time, remote-first
- Pay set on your experience and what you've shown you can deliver
- Work directly with the founder and a senior negotiating team on decisions that move real money
- A path to lead sourcing and partnerships as the team grows
How to apply
Include one supplier, product or company you found: how you found it, how you checked it, and what happened. Applications without a real example will not be reviewed.
A note on AI
You don't need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect everyone here to be curious and to use AI as a real collaborator in their work. When AI fluency is a core requirement, the role says so in the skills list. People who do well here use AI to think better and check its work before it ships.
Equal opportunity
We hire people from a wide range of backgrounds. If you're excited about this role but don't meet every point, we still encourage you to apply. Morsegrid does not discriminate on the basis of any legally protected characteristic. If you need an adjustment during the application process, tell us and we will make it.
